We are in the early days of a new year. Looking back at 2024, we see that technology has shaped the global agenda. With tremendous advancements in technology, the world is rapidly digitalizing, and the rules of competition are being rewritten. AI-powered software and hardware, devices with new interfaces, the resurgence of cryptocurrencies, and many other technological developments were the key topics that defined the past year. In recent years, we have consistently emphasized that technology provides the main advantage in global and national competition. We can confidently say that technology will continue to be the main driver shaping the agenda in the near future.
While 2024 was a year in which technology had a tremendous impact on all sectors in Turkey as in the world, it was also a special year for us at Index Grup as we celebrated our 35th anniversary. In 1989, we set out with the dream of providing one-stop supply. To put it figuratively, I am filled with indescribable joy and pride seeing that today, from the humble beginnings with “one desk, one case” alongside a few companions, we are now among the top 50 companies that add value to our country.
When we set out on our journey, our dream was to become “Turkey's Technology Source” in the long run. We started with small steps. In the early years, there were days when we celebrated in our modest office selling one computer a day. In our office, which was quite small at the time, with our team, which was also quite small, our only dream was to become the sector leader in 2000. As we truly believed with all our hearts and minds, we became the leader of our sector for the first time in 2000. Today, we are happy to say that we have been the sector leader for 24 years straight.
As Turkey's leading information technologies distribution group, we operate with 6 companies, 3 of which are publicly traded, and more than 500 colleagues. With our strong management team, robust financial structure, product portfolio consisting of the world's best technology brands, strong logistics capability, and the power to reach everywhere in Turkey in the most efficient and broadest ways with our ecosystem of more than 8000 business partners, we continue to be the right address for “one-stop supply” in the technology sector for 35 years. By a beautiful coincidence in life, we are delighted to see that, in our 35th year, we have increased our market share to 35%.
The year 2024, which we closed with strong figures, was a year filled with investments for our group. As we strengthened our portfolio with the addition of HB Bilişim and i-renovo, we continue to invest in complementary sectors to our core business operations. We believe that our new generation smart logistics center, which we plan to implement in the upcoming period, will be a significant step towards enhancing Turkey's access to technology products. With the contribution of all these investments, our short- and long-term goals include becoming the first distributor in Turkey to surpass $2 billion in 2025, doubling our size by 2030, and becoming one of the top five technology distributors in Europe, the MEA region, and the Balkans in the next 10 years.
This special year, as we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we decided to share with our young people everything that has made us what we are today in order to foster their dreams and hopes. We know that many young people living in Anatolia start the race of achieving their dreams far behind as they lack adequate opportunities, and we regard this as a matter of concern. We are proud and happy to establish the Foundation for Access to Information Technologies and Education with the aim of supporting young people in Anatolia who do not have access to informatics and education and contributing to their readiness for a prosperous and happier future. Through our foundation, we aim to provide technological product support and scholarship support to young people living in disadvantaged regions, establish technology laboratories, support good ideas and spread the mobilization of access to informatics and education by acting as a bridge between local governments, competent public authorities and educational institutions.
I would like to sincerely thank our esteemed investors, business partners, managers, colleagues, and all stakeholders who have believed in us, trusted us, and contributed to our journey since the very beginning, as we walked the path following our dreams.
